5 on Friday

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
1. Exercise- I did my first post-partum workout on tuesday. Yay!!  I definitely was feeling it on wednesday.  Originally I planned on taking Ally on a walk but it is way too cold to be taking my baby out!  So instead I did some turbo kick videos on youtube.  I can't wait to sign up for the gym and take classes there.
I've missed you, nikes!

2. Valentine's Day- ordered my fiancés valentine's day gift.  Don't look any further Cam!  I got him the cargo shorts feature here.  I also got him the blue polo featured below.  I really do love old navy.  The constant sales always pull me in! I never buy anything full price from them!

3. Kate Spade- my bag came in on Thursday. It's everything I wanted and more! I've always been a purse girl. I knew I wasn't going to be a mom that uses her diaper bag as a purse. It's too much to remember to take my stuff out for school and put it back in my purse. So I really wanted a brown leather medium strap over bag. Then I have been dying to get a Kate Spade bag. So naturally when I was checking the sales section and this beauty was $150, normally $328, I was sold. I love her more than I should love any inanimate object.

4. School- first test on monday.  I am super nervous about it since its my first upper level class towards my major.  It's intermediate accounting 1.  I previously took financial and managerial accounting and pulled out an A in both.  I still am very proud about myself!

5. Sleep- My princess has been giving me the wonderful gift of sleep.  I'm quite impressed that she slept from 11 to 8 on tuesday night! Wednesday night she only slept from 12 to 7 but really I'm not complaining!
Right before she slept through the night!

Wedding Wednesday: Possible Venues

Honestly I have been looking at wedding venues as soon as I got engaged which is over a year and a half.  Lets just say I've changed my mind several times but I think I have finally narrowed it down to these venues.
One. Thistle Springs Ranch - beautiful ranch style venue.  It offers seating up to 250 guests, provides tables and chairs, and many other amenities.

Two. Chapel Ana Villa - Spanish style, accommodates 275 guests, and offers indoor reception and ceremony.

Three. Elmwood Gardens- Gorgeous garden with outdoor ceremony and indoor reception.

Pregnancy is not so bad

.... Well at least for me it wasn't.

One. My nails and hail grew long, strong, and fast. It was awesome.  Who doesn't love healthy nails?

Two. No period. Not cramping for at least 9 months is wonderful.

Three. You can eat as much as you want without any judgement. On a side note though, you should eat every thing you crave. Your post partum body will thank you for that later.

Four. No exercise for the same reason above.

Five. People have sympathy towards you. Let them open doors. Let them get you something across the room when they offer. Indulge in it while you can because soon it will be all about your little one.
And last but not least…

Six. You are growing a human being. Your baby will be the most precious and important person in your life. Cherish they time you spend with him or her while they are in your belly. You are the only one that will ever share that bond with your baby.

One Month Favorites

One. Pampers Swaddlers Love these diaper. I have tried Kroger and Luvs. These are by far my favorite diapers. They have a yellow line that turns blue when she pees.

Two. Swaddle Me these are so much better than regular receiving blankets. All the ones I had were too small. She would kick out of the blanket in the middle of the night which would cause her to wake up. With this she is snug as a bug. :)

Three. Dr. Brown's Bottles I register only for Dr. Browns bottles but got other kinda as well. These are so awesome. Ally drinks out of them wonderfully. I will say not to bother with the 4 ounce ones though because before you know it your baby will move to 4 1/2 making those useless.

Four. Boppy makes feedings go by so much smoother. It helps preventing your arm from going to sleep!

5 on Friday

One. Weather. It's cold. I live in Texas. It should not be cold. It was 21 degrees here this morning and 37 in anchorage. What?

Two. Procrastination. I'm already on my second week back to school and I'm behind. Kudos to all you mothers going to school while caring for an infant.

Three. Valentines Day. Getting my Valentines present early.

Four. Exercise. I got lost on campus. Again. I really have no sense of direction. Now you ask how this relates to exercise? Well I walked around for 30 minutes in the cold and my uggs. I haven't exercised since I was pregnant. I was sweating in the cold. Before I was pregnant I was one of those people who barely sweated. Now I get winded by walking. Great. Next week I need to start exercising to get to my pre pregnancy weight. I want to wear my skinny jeans again.

Five. Movie night. Fiancé, Ally, and I Re going to watch cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2, captain Philips, and the Lone Ranger. Now whether or not we will make it through all those movies is highly unlikely.

Happy Friday y'all!

Allison's Birth Story

On December 2nd I went in to labor.  That morning when i woke up, I had no idea I would be going in to labor.  I honestly woke up feeling pretty good.  I didn't dread going to class like I had been for the last few weeks of my pregnancy.  I got several tasks done around the house that I had been putting  off.  When I finished I headed over to my parents house.  I started to work on my last few assignments of the semester.  I felt as if I was going to make it to the end of the semester.  I honestly felt like she wasn't going to come until her induction date on the 19th which was a week after my due date.  Around 4:30 I got up to go to the bathroom.  When I finished I felt a gush.  I didn't know if I peed myself or my water was breaking.  I went and sat down to research if my water broke.  Clearly I was in no rush.  I was sort of in denial that I was going in to labor.  So then I proceeded to call my fiancé  several times with no answer.  Then I called my mom and told her what was happening.  She said to call my doctor.  I called and tried to get through but had no such luck since it was after 5.  I called back my mom and she said she would try calling the doctor.  She got ahold of him and he said if I walk around and continue to leak then my water definitely broke.  He also told her he would call ahead to the hospital and let them know that I am on my way.  I started to get the last few things that I  needed in my hospital bag.  My mom got home, grabbed a few things and we were out the door along with my sister.  By then it was around 6 and I was hungry!  On the whole way to the hospital we were looking for something to eat.  When ended up passing the hospital to go to whataburger.  I know it sounds completely ridiculous that we stopped and got something to eat but honestly I felt fine.  I felt no urgency.  I wasn't feeling any contractions.  I was sitting in the car eating my chicken strips sitting   on the towel I thankfully brought when I felt a gush.  My water continued to leak a lot more and frequently.  At that point we decided it was best to go to the hospital.  Once there they wheeled me up to labor and delivery.  I was okay with walking but not okay with leaking all over the hospital.  Once I got in my room I changed in to my hospital gown.  My nurse Melissa checked my cervix and I was dilated  to a 3 and 90% effaced if I remember correctly.  She asked how I was feeling and I said I was feeling fine and didn't feel any contractions.  She said I was having contractions about every 5 minutes.  My doctor told her to give me pictocin to speed up and increase the strength of my contractions.  Since they were pretty busy she decided to wait a bit to give it to me since I was progressing nicely on my own.  When she came back to give me the pictocin I still wasn't feeling any contractions.  As soon as she give it to me though, I felt them.  I have never experienced a pain like that before.  When she came back she gave me something that was supposed to dull the pain.  She said it would take 5 to 15 minutes to start working.  I was about to cry.  My mom called my nurse back in for my epidural.  It took about 15 minutes for the anesthesiologist to finally come in.  By that time I was upset because my fiancée still wasn't there and I was in so much pain.  Eventually my fiancé arrived during the epidural.  My mom and him switched places.  I felt so much better after the epidural.  After the epidural it was smooth sailing.  The epidural did slow down my contraptions but it still only took me 45 minutes of using and then Miss Allison was here!  It was the best feeling in the world.  I was happy, delirious, and tired.  I had so many mixed emotions.  She was here.
